Elster, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of highly accurate, high quality, integrated metering and utilization solutions, announced today that it has joined the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) IntelliGrid program.
EPRI’s IntelliGrid program performs research, development and demonstrations with participation and funding from member electric utilities, public agencies, leading equipment manufacturers and others to establish the vision for the smart or digital-age power grid.

Elster’s EnergyAxis System delivers advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) solutions to manage installed devices and retrieve related metering information. Elster has the largest two-way mesh radio frequency AMI deployment in North America and has already shipped more than 1 million smart meters.
EnergyAxis AMI solutions work for urban, suburban, residential, commercial and industrial applications and range from high density metropolitan environments to lightly populated areas including remote rural villages in Alaska.
